There is a general tendency amongst all sections of society to indulge in violence at the slightest provocation.What we saw in the capital in the first two days of the threeday bandh last week a pitched battle betwen the workers of a political party and law enforcement agencies was a mainfestaion of the rot that has set into our body politic.Extra caution needs to be exercised in the capital because the people her, particularly the unlttered ones, are prone to taking the law into their own hands and attacking policemen when they are checked policement when they are chcked. If this state of affairs continues, the day is not far when we will have lawless roads in every city of the country."Thank you"
